Compass of Life - Bound by time, Held by Morals

Time - Wasting, Experimenting, Using, Sharing and Traveling
Space - Universe - we are immaterial, we occupy
Talent - Skills are Honed, Capability are Developed, Character is Innate.
Money - around Greed levels Material, Comfort ,Necessity
Moral - Happiness, Good, Bad and Ugly

Of all these, time is the ultimate measure of existence of universe. It is infinite but yet scarce for an individual.

The space is also infinite and yet bound by time. Humans are immaterial in this time and space existence.

Human talent and existence evolves over time and space. The metric of talent is value. We ascribe monetary and moral compass to these talent.

Money is the only compass which is not natural. It is human developed for relative difference. There are something money can buy but not time, space, and talent; for everything else there is Moral compass.

Morals are observable in nature. Too much of anything is greed. The limits are to each individual. Morals are the only thing which keep us relevant in this infinitesimally irrelevant existence of time and space and help shape talent. The moral and resultant talent allow us to not only share time and space of our order but also pass this securely to next generation. In between, the entire chaos of money is of greed and fear, the extreme of morals.

Time exists forever, morals develop memories.
Space exists in time, morals define within.
Talent is developed, morals mould character.
Money, the material is the most immaterial in passage of time and space and is the only finite compass. Morals are not finite but discerning.

  • Time is supreme, Morals are for Mortals!!

Every now and then

I have a word
 Albeit with a stranger
It makes me wise
 Every now and then

I take a walk
 Alone with my ideas
It makes me aware
 Every now and then

I have food
 With friends and folks
It makes the world tastier to me
 Every now and then

I see a beautiful smile
What if of a small girl
It makes me calm
 Every now and then

I play pranks
 With humor
It makes me happy
 Every now and then

I traverse a path
 Somewhat untried
Just to discover something
 Every now and then

I listen to song
 of ballad and beauty
So I can hum
 Every now and then

There is an awkward silence
In every breath
Until the life bursts again
 Every now and then!!

The little bubbles of life are more subtle and less noisy on bursting then balloons,
Enjoy every one of them, Every now and then!!

To be Yourself!! Part II

I've seen castles made out of sand,
Met people who believe destiny is engraved on the pam of their hands,

I've seen people change their faith,
Experienced love change into hate,

I've seen people grow younger with age,
And a bird who wouldn't fly out of an open cage,

I've seen love sold for money,
People who are devastated inside but outside they're funny,

I've seen the unicorn fall in love with the toad,
People who owned half the city have now hit the road,

I've learned to expect the unexpected,
Perfection doesn't exist, we're all defected,

Everyone cries, some just hide their tears,
They say coal turns diamond over a thousand years,

Someone may believe you are one in a million,
For others you are just another nobody in the billion.

So live life with all that you have, cherish all your moments Happy or Sad!

simply be yourself...:)

Life bytes 2!

Dharmesh Sanghvi
It was the day of Mumbai blasts. It was pouring and traffic and standing on the bus stop. All of Mumbai was called on to show the spirit. We saw it. This corporate slowed down offered a lift and dropped us till our last location even taking a detour. Too good! He rocks!!

Risk is when you are not prep for it

So true is above one phrase when you are living in risky environment physically, literally and financially. When you are prepared, all risk are adventures or point of learning and growing. Be prepared.

Off our times and ages : SM and HRK

So true is the striking difference between the two foreign ministers of India and Pakistan. While SM reflects the growing age of Parliamentarian and need to move on, HRK is too show-off strategy thrown by Pakistan to show of its inclusive politics. Neither India is so old today nor is Pakistan so neo-liberal. Its not of our time and ages.

Life is all about evoking responses

More than once, in last two years. It was a challenge thrown at me, who are all the people you aspire to know and work with. I had my list from Michael Porter, Philip Kotler, Amartya Sen, E Sreedharan, Menaka Doshi, Jean Dreeze, Sam Pitroda and more. While difficult to say why this whole lot, but I have been able to. It was not what they replied but my asking was invoking enough for a response.

The Syntel march: Dil Chahta Hai.

It was a downpour till I got down from the bus and started moving towards office; at the Galleria turn, I saw this bunch of 15 odd people moving in tri-line; mesmerized in their own world. Listening to each other. Doing their bit of debating of the world. Still remember times at TCS, lunch time ; 20 odd freaks would wreck the hell out of everything around and all over the world.
There is a scene in Dil Chahta Hai, when returning from Australia,
Aakash is driving to office and he sees his college times , Sid , Sameer and himself being there and he has that reminiscent movement. So was this, I could just recall the parking area of TCS and 20 odd freaks, free on their will and Together.
When you get to walk, do walk. It not only let you observe things around but also recollect good cherished memories

Sweeping Colors of Democracy

It was morning as usual in the hustle and bustle of the city.

Only thing a movement had aroused. It is said of the six degree connections and you cannot be away from anything which concerns you.

So I met this Dabbawalla at the Railway Station. He came and asked me If I can pin the Black Ribbon on My shirt in support of the movement. I said only when you have answered some of my queries.

First Question : "Do you understand what are you protesting and contesting for?"
Reply : "Yes. I do. I have been part of this democracy for 47 years but never asked this question to my politicians but I will answer this. 10 years life was simpler and we all agree on that. Today I am delivering the same Dabba, the size is same but I know that weight of some of this Dabbas have reduced. I am sure all of India is not on dieting."
Interrupted by Train honk, Reply continues : "So we asked some of our customers about this. They said its inflation, prices have gone alarmigly up. It is not the same for every set of my customers."

Follow up: "So its only the inflation you are fighting against?"
Reply: "No. We have started increased demand for money and bribe when we are moving and distributing. While it affects economically it also make us ponder what this small - unwarranted tip of passage tip of Rs. 5 and Rs. 10 going to do, at times. So we worked out and we wound, the amount may be small but it aggregates. They harassed one today, another tomorrow and it goes on. I have heard similar thing from my customer. It is getting and spreading everywhere."

Another one and probably the last I could ask, I was already filled up to my guts with the true reply: "What else Kaka?"
Reply: "The situations are bad, even back in villages. Government said NREGA and all. Implementation have failed. What reaches us through NREGA and other schemes is very small token of probably they have carved out in their budget. To ask local administrator about this  is like Crime. You are bound to lose that small amount as well. The idea is not that we did not knew this earlier. The problem was there was no one to which this people would listen. We today have Anna leading us. Some people from Parliament have already gone muzzled over what has been put out. I also heard about this lady Kiran Bedi, she had fought with some goondas. Although Iron handed, she is sensitive enough to understand plight of another citizen of her country, a common man and fight for it. If i still do not follow or even support them, its not that I would feel Shameless, but I would continue to live in this state of disgust."

Last words: "Kaka, I do not know what level I would be able to help by wearing this arm band, but I am inspired enough to wear it, You causes are enough!"

He put the ribbon on my shoulder and left. I thought lets see how many even notice. And then I reached Borivli and took a bus from there. From the point I sat to the point I got down at my stop, 21 people had inquired by then."

I reached a little late at office. But that was not the simmering topic there. It was Anna. Over lunch, Meeting and travel back home. Not less but 82 people inquired of that black ribbon.

There have been contention raised regarding Parallel Governments, Another System being put in place, Lokpal might collapse under its own weight and so on. The critics include some of the sought out Parliamentarians, Bureaucrats , Technocrats , Students and Intellectuals and all the more, so called , some common people as people.

1. The idea is not to accept the Jan Lokpal Bill as is; but debate it and then pass it. But to make a start from where Anna and team and followers ar stating.

2. Now why only start from where this people are saying and not Government's point? Because its comprehensive.

3. Comprehensive will waste time : Well it will definitely stop wastage of resources and lives.

4. There already exist CVC, etc , etc : Please go and solve all the plights that exist with all the people and then say they are effective. The Government could have always mentioned of a speedy, transparent mechanism with existing machinery but they did not choose. They waited for eventuality to happen. They are still in a mode of denial.

5. Nobody wants parallel government but we need parallel mechanism. There are no referendums in this country. There are no public reviews of public accounts. Why all the stated targets and objectives of Government are not documented and monitored publicly. While planning commission and other put out good documented information. Some of them are outdated. Some are moving anywhere. Why there is no accountability?

Slippage of power generation by 35% or more in five year plan, loss of exchequer on account of subsidy, [ Mismanagement of supplies, Foods, Logistics, Transportation, Gross Mishandling, Late approval for no reason, Healthcare, and the list goes on. Can government give a 5 year plan to reform all this with immediate actions?

When they had to raise their pay, It took a simple Yea and Nah! in Parliament. How much was it debated? Zilch! Someone brought up Austerity point? It has gone for toss. Private travel on Public money. So many sessions of parliament being overhauled for some tiffing point. I thought people in Parliament can sit and address at some point. They never did. All they do is Qawallis, Poems, Readings and more readings of some Dohas and Preachings. While protest internal to parliament is good , what happens when public take it up?

Its a revolt!! It is said so!!

Even if this movement is able to shake up existing system and bring about the much required reforms, that would be enough for Anna and all the supporters of the idea.

What is asked for is a solution for all the problems of common man and not Another system. All elected representatives are elected for the same reason or are they not? We are just asking for accountability and this time a definitive implementation plan.

Government has answer to neither.

Government includes Ruling party, Opposition, Administration, Judiciary, Civil Services, Elected Representative at State, District and all levels, and last and not the least the common man [ who is clueless of all that is happening to him].

I did not had answer to that Kaka's question and I am asking my government about it. Please answer.

I am sure, we have all fought this system at some point and sometime gave away to their whimsical demands. Someone just told us we need not give it away every time. While even I disagree with some of the points, I am just supporting the idea to see a Change, that might be little but for sure.

One ribbon made a difference to me and 83 others and India expect more!

Let Nature have its day!

End of first week at work,
You have already lost track of the clock.
With berries in your pocket
Your mind is in a docket

To the daffodils of Wordsworth
And leisure of Davies
Humor from Scott
Wit from Buchwald

Throw open the rules
Throw away those tools
When at 9 you walk a mile
Tiredness gives away to a little smile

Sipping cup of coffee
Listening to the odyssey
Staring at the beauty
Munching some fruity

Ecstasy to attain
Outside the window pane
Dance in the rain
Away from the unnerving pain

The smell will be over
Before you even realize
For something gives hint
But the Nature just arrives.

Stuck on the first smell of rain this monsoon

A dream come true for underpriviledged students

Dream on

Every time I look in the mirror
All these lines on my face getting clearer
The past is gone
It goes by, like dusk to dawn
Isn't that the way
Everybody's got their dues in life to pay

Yeah, I know nobody knows

where it comes and where it goes
I know it's everybody's sin
You got to lose to know how to win

Half my life

is in books' written pages
Lived and learned from fools and
from sages
You know it's true
All the things come back to you

Sing with me, sing for the year

Sing for the laughter, sing for the tears
Sing with me, if it's just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the good lord will take you away

Yeah, sing with me, sing for the year

sing for the laughter, sing for the tear
sing with me, if it's just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away

Dream On Dream On Dream On

Dream until your dreams come true
Dream On Dream On Dream On
Dream until your dream comes through
Dream On Dream On Dream On
Dream On Dream On
Dream On Dream On

Sing with me, sing for the year

sing for the laughter, sing for the tear
sing with me, if it's just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away
Sing with me, sing for the year
sing for the laughter, sing for the tear
Sing with me, if it's just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away......

DREAM ON!

Happy Holi

United colors of life,
Sparkling color of its emotions,
Singing all in Unison,
Across it spectrum and Depth of Pattern,
Rejoice it wholly,
Wish you a Happy Holi.

.. Play safe.

Why we Lie?

Why we lie?
In the heat of competition
In the thought of winning
Whatever we may vie
…. Why we lie

For the half truth
Or the half deny
For the compulsions we may shy
The truth is we often lie

The mirage we create
Part we disseminate
And part we hold
To look bold

Sometime intimate
What we cannot even ruminate
Exasperation
We cannot ventilate

Matter over mind
Matters in grind
What is already known?
Is never a find

Theft of word
Words full of debt
Crisis for dead
That dead looks for more apt

Point of views
Points that opine
We can see
Yet we belie

The truth of youth
For which everyone needs sleuth
Keep chewing it
Although not a sweet tooth

It is time for confession
To the next booth
Or silence
Till we die

We the People

On the eve of 62nd Republic
East’s own Constantinople
Largest Constitution
Who is the Disciple?
Of all the Opportunities
We look to grapple
Population will double
Economy Quadruple
We are growing nation of future
Always in a form of past participle
The race of Olympics
Or the record of weasel
Despite the wealth of Forbes
Every happiness giggle
Rights are from the institution of Chapel
And Duties are not matter of Gospel
The fighter of the Red Terror
Is locked with the sickle
Inflation of the Onions
Or Fuel of the fickle
Price of Gold, Price of Silver
Pulses are no longer worth just a nickel
While we do cheers
Rice is still the staple
Corruption have bought the mind state
And brought nation to cripple
In spite of all the individual ripple
Still we say ‘We the People’

"Happy Republic Day!"
